Edward Dorr Tracy Letters, . 1861-1863

Edward Dorr Tracy of Huntsville, Ala., was a Brigadier General in the Army of the Confederate States of America. The collection contains letters from Tracy to his wife and friends, chiefly from northern Virginia in 1861, with a few items from Tennessee in 1862 and the Vicksburg campaign of 1863. A few letters relate to military engagements; most deal with the health and spirits of his troops, camp life, requests for clothes, and messages to family members.
